I'll bet you are pretty selective on your outrage about constitutional excesses. Congress has every right to pass the independent counsel law. This thing may be ugly, but it is in the grand tradition of limited, divided government.

In America, no man should be above the law. If Starr had violated the law, certainly Janet Reno would have fired him. Or the President can fire Reno and appoint someone who will. It's as simple as that. Where are the constitutional dangers in that?

I think you are more concerned about covering up the Woodstock morals in the Whitehouse from political embarrassment than any constitutional problem.

What you should have been indignant about was the mantra of 'personal character doesn't matter' that got Clinton elected.
