U S Robotics Inc to unveil new technology
CHICAGO, Oct 15 (Reuter) - U.S. Robotics Corp said Tuesday it will unveil at a briefing
scheduled for Wednesday in New York what it said is "one of the most exciting technologies" it has
ever developed, but declined to provide details.
While the company withheld details, analysts speculated it will introduce a modem with 56 kilobit
per second transmission capabilites, much faster than existing speeds.
"I think it's the 56-K modem," said John Grangaard, an analyst for GS2 Securities. "It gives them a
strong upgrade cycle on both the client end and the server."
Shares of U.S. Robotics were up 7-7/8 at 77. |
