You have to admit that it has been the Left that removed the primary importance of the three R's in early education. I recall seeing "60 Minutes" not long ago where they showed how California spent hundreds of millions on a new way to teach math that did not teach how to arrive at the correct answer. That was not considered important. They showed teachers who were disciplined for rejecting that "New" approach and who taught the old way because it was the only way to get results. Yes, these teachers were disciplined despite the fact that their students easily out-tested the others! I understand that California is now replacing that "New Math", after about 10 years of disaster, with the old way, at a very high $ cost. What happens to the generation that learned little? There are many more examples.
