While on a cruise ship off the east coast of South America one of the crew noticed a passenger looking out over the sea through a telescope. Since they were many miles beyond any visible land, he asked what she was looking at. Her reply was that since they were near the equator she wanted to be the first passenger to see it. The crewman plucked a hair from his head and stretched it across the front lens. The passenger was delighted to see the equator and remarked that a camel was walking along it. PW.
