Paul ... I like your last post and I like the 10 year figure - I have heard this sort of thing in past and it is another thing I 'count on' / 'hope for' going forward. Recently, my wife and I have talked more about the end of our lives as we now know them (particularly the consulting rat race) and, at 44, I am looking to about age 55 to seriously slow down. If I 'make it' financial-wise before then, great. So the 10 year timeline of continued expected force in markets suits me fine. I am a tail-end baby boomer or second-wave boomer and I want to have 'made it' before the first wave starts cashing in big time and causes an opposite sustained selling force.

An interesting side issue to all this, is what does the current and future investment trend (continued buying force followed by a period of selling force) mean for young investors 10 years or so from now (like my kids who will be college age or married perhaps).
