BK, Great idea for a thread. I just hope it stays on, or close to topic. I started the Ask God thread a couple of years ago as a joke and now it has more people pounding on their bibles than all the dime-store preachers on public television.<g> Anyway I don't own a mountain bike but I do have a hybrid bike. Where I live there are more paved areas to ride than unpaved. Currently I have a 3 year old Diamondback Approach. Do a lot of street riding in the back country near where I live in Connecticut. Lots of great hilly, scenic rides. I know some people that go up to Vermont & New Hampshire in the summer. Some ski areas rent bikes and let you zip around on all the trails . Sounds like a lot of fun!! Might be something to check out. Anyway good luck.
