DT,

Do you want to convert it entirely for street use or do you still want to be able to use it off-road? I really have not heard of anyone doing this. Road bikes are not that expensive now, especially used ones. Because mtn. biking has been the more popular of the two for some years now, you can get some incredible deals on used road bikes. I would go this route before venturing into conversion, esp. since many things cannot be changed like the heavier frame. Hope this helps.
