A Symbios press release of a year ago--on its second anniversary as a Hyundai Electronics subsidiary--provides some perspective on its business.

"During 1996, Symbios Logic has gained industry recognition for its products and technologies. The Company has been ranked by International Data Corporation as one of the top three suppliers of OEM RAID subsystems worldwide. With a 12 percent market share, Dataquest considers Symbios Logic one of the top two worldwide vendors of mixed-signal cell-based ASIC solutions and eighth in the world as a CMOS standard cell supplier. In addition, Symbios Logic holds over 33 percent of the worldwide SCSI chip market and 15 percent of the worldwide market in disk and tape drive electronics, according to the Company's own market research.

As an industry leader in air pollution control, continued working with the Environmental Protection Agency to research and control the
emissions of greenhouse gases

Established two Company divisions: the Storage Systems Division and the Semiconductor Division"
