Halfscot, I agree with you, and that's what I was trying to say when I wrote the post you are answering. Because Willey is a liberal Democrat it is not surprising that she would continue to be involved. I also suspect that she had friends and associates in White House circles. Ann Lewis certainly seems to know her well! And of course as a big campaign contributor she would have expected the little goodies that come with that, like White House Christmas party invitations. But the very most important factor is that she was a widow with no recent job experience that of which I am aware, and certainly getting a job through the Clinton administration was her best survival strategy, and she took it.

She has said that she planned to take that incident to the grave with her, and not tell anyone. So why should she also be penalized for something she felt she was not at fault in? Her behavior after the incident--to simply put it behind her and go on--seems natural and makes perfect sense to me, and does not destroy her credibility.
