It's simple. Just because an investigator confiscates information or property does not mean that said investigator is required to do anything with it in regards to the investigation. Material evidence need not be judged according to the mental state of the possessor. She
could be a raving lunatic but if there is substantial evidence not related to her mental capacity then it's a non issue.


I see. Starr receives an anonymous tip, perhaps; perhaps an "anonymous" tip from the demented Sherrie. So without further ado he issues a subpeona and gets a search warrant (we're assuming that in fact he had one). Isn't this just the tinest bit police state?

Let's get real: either he's extremely gullible, or he's not doing his job properly.
