I don't believe even Janice believes him. She simply wants to suspend judgement indefinitely. However, she does instantaneously render judgement on his antagonists. You're right, I don't necessarily believe him. Uxorius? Uh-uh. But usually people reputed to be Casanovas aren't as active as they're believed to be, so my guess is that the story of his infidelities isn't as lurid as painted, if only because it isn't all that easy to manage vast numbers of simultaneous affairs, even if they're extremely perfunctory ones. I'm not rendering absolute judgment on the chix. I'm merely saying that we need to take, um, a hard look at their stories. A great many people on this thread seem quite willing to believe whatever they say. The fact that so many of 'em stand to profit from their revelations is more than a bit disturbing.
