NevinS., The $64 question. We need a good economist to measure the slowdown in Asia versus the speedup in Africa, Latin America, and Europe.

I work some in Africa- and many people surprised to hear that of 40 Sub-Saharan African countries, 33 had economic growth rates exceeding population growth rates in 1997 - an average GDP growth rate of 4.5% annually.

Asia represent 25% of the world's economy. One wonders how much Europe, Africa, and Latin America represent....
