I will have a lot more respect for lawyers when the following happens: 1. Elimination of contingency fees. 2. Loser pays for both sides. 3. Plaintiff gets compensation damages only. 4. Punitive damages go to the State. And please don't give me that bullshit about how contingency fees are meant to help poor people obtain justice. Contingency fees are meant to guarantee lawyers windfall profits for a few hours of work. The paralyzed accident victim gets $666,000 and his lawyer gets $333,000 for telling the jury that his client is paralyzed. How do you guys sleep at night?
