I hate to rain on your parade but most lawyers (numerically speaking) do not work on a contingent fee basis. Most of us grind away on a flat fee or hourly (if we are lucky) basis doing constructive work such as forming business entities, creating transactional legal documents, examining titles to real property, etc. As I mentioned, I don't work on a contingent fee basis and I believe some reform is probably justified. However, I wouldn't generalize that all basketball players have horns just because Latrell Sprewell (sp?) choked his coach and neither should you. That is my point. Unfortunately, only the worst of my profession seems to get press coverage. JLA
