I've got my stories, too. Adaptec's rapid decline in price fooled me all the way down. I banked on its past volatility as assurance it would come right back and bought more at 40 and 41. Then to salve my wounds, when it dipped below 20 I bought more. But during the plunge, I decided to sell a speculative oil drilling stock--XCL--that I had held for several years, intending to use some of the proceeds to help pay for the Adaptec. XCL was trading at about 3 5/8 when I sold, or thought I sold. With on-line trading I hit the "buy" button by mistake and didn't realize it until several days later, when XCL had climbed to over 5 and I now owned twice as many shares! Believing this was an omen, I kept the stock and found other ways to pay for Adaptec.

Not all my dealing has been like that, I'm happy to say. And I think I just may join you in absorbing a few more shares of Adaptec. Just got to be careful not to hit the "sell" button.
