Billy is old, tired and suffers from a chronic illness. Jerry Ford and Barry Goldwater have both repeatedly embarrassed themselves under similar conditions. In fact, the only time they seem to make the news is when they say something outrageously asinine.

Billy tried to undo his "Today" logorrhea in a NY Times Op-Ed a week or two ago. Did you read it? I did.

To me it was pure sophistry.
