That's fine Val, as long as you can conduct your business in selected cities.

I'm going a bit out on a limb here but I'll bet over the coming years we're going to see enough independant competition actually garnering a sufficient percentage of customers from the market that the major LDCs and LECs will attempt to sew things up in their favor. I expect a combination of aquisitions combined with the regulatory leverage these major players have maintained for their their own protection since day one.

Companies like AT&T, Lucent, Nortel and the RBOCs don't exhibit signs of being worried, they generally have plenty of ideas sitting on their shelves - fully researched, tested and ready for announcements at the opportune moment. Some of these are used as little more than a response to another's press of (we can do that too, only better) and some are dead serious technologies expected to produce substantial improvements to their bottom lines.

Until the day comes that either of my neighbors hints something has been taken off the shelf and tossed in the trash I refuse to do the same with my stock in this company - besides that I think this has been an improved quarter on all fronts.
