Hi Bruce, There might be a stiff penalty in converting your IRA to a Roth one now. Some of it depends if you were deducting your IRA contributions from previous tax years. Sorry I don't know more about the details. I remember last summer when you were contemplating your open water crossing. It takes a leap of faith to let one's accounts sit for a month with nothing more than a few gtc orders sitting around! I'm glad that AIM was able to help! There's an interesting series of articles in this month's WORTH magazine on living with retirement. I'm not finished with them yet, but I've enjoyed what I've read so far. The articles indicate that we Boomers will most likely do something other than traditional rocking chair retirements and that we should "practice" retirement before actually doing so! Well, I've had 12 years of practice so far, and I'm just getting the hang of it!! ;-) Best regards, Tom
