I think we should not enhance Mr.Baines' importance anymore than he deserves. More to the point, let's everyone keep in mind the fundamental reasons why we invested in this company. I believe and so do all of you that the company has made a major breakthrough with the Mexican deal. As Rob Winston(500) pointed out, the new investors have been spared the pain of development work and the long wait for natural gas infrastructure construction in most target countries is over. They will be rewarded as a lot of the old investors lost patience and left them their stocks at a bargain price. Laurel Yturalde was very clear on this in her articles on the Investor Digest and so are the Financial Post articles. I believe the Japanese are still working with the company closely. We possibly may have more good news soon.
As for Mr. Baines, let me point out to all that he also trashed Diamond Fields and Robert Friedland when the stock was at $8 and caused a lot of investors to lose money, and the stock finally closed out at over $160 when it was bought out. Another so called great expose of his was Delgratia Resources which was a downright scam from day one which any astute investor can see. But the great Mr. Baines waited for the stock to reached $34 US before releasing his article, could this be for a much greater short profit.
Furthermore, Bonnie, take note that in Saturday's article he also trashed Investor Digest, Financial Post, Laurel Yturalde, the CBC National news editorial staff(Dec.31,1997) aside from ATF. Fianancial Post is one of two of Canada's most prestigious NATIONAL business paper. Investor Digest is subscribed nationally through Canada and the US. Please let's not put the Vancouver Sun business section in the same category. Fluff belongs on a kitten not in a business paper.
