The real tragedy of Iran/Contra is that Reagan didn't have the balls to challenge the Bolland Amendment on the grounds that it was unconstitutional! I supported Reagan in doing what he did, but was highly disappointed when he didn't come out and admit it! Congress, in its' zeal to conduct foreign policy, overstepped its powers in micromanaging the Presidents directives! However, the Executive branch effectively abdicated its responsibilities by not forcing the issue early and deciding to circumvent instead! By the way, if you really want to talk about sleaze and corruption let's talk about Reagan's visit to Japan shortly after leaving the White House. He got paid $2 million bucks to deliver a speach...I wonder what he did during his tenure to deserve this!?!?!? $tar
