Janice you're even more lost than usual. Let me try to help you:

>>Now, Zlot! TRY to decompress. You're not making a hell of a lotta sense here. Japan was seen as a model economy by EVERYBODY in the late '80s, not just by "liberal Dems" (SPAWN OF THE DEVIL!!).

Gee, when was Rising Sun both the best-selling novel and movie? When were Americans burning Japanese cars in the industrial heartland and when the Japanese threatening to take over the banking, computer and microprocessor industries?

>>The guy you so blindly idolize also saw to it that our national debt skyrocketed, a problem we're still dealing with.

No I don't. We all recognize Reagan would have done better had he had a Republican Congress, thanks for reminding us all. But you should also be reminded that Reagan Era deficits were TINY TINY TINY in comparison with Franklin Deficit Roosevelt's when measured in relation to the overall budget and national economy. Record deficits and national debt weren't enough of a legacy so FDR also saddled us with the Cold War which wasted another $7,000,000,000,000 (at least).

Now we still have to reform FDR's Social Security debt time bomb don't we? No wonder FDR's reputation is dropping every year.

>>And still you seem to miss Sam's point, or do we have to print it out for you? He asks: why, exactly, was Ronnie paid two million bucks to give SINGLE lackluster speech in Tokyo?

Calm down and take off your combat boots. It wasn't Sam. And I answered Starpooper. Here, I let you, the reality impervious, read it again:

He merely won the Cold War and his free market reforms ended the hegemony of Japan Inc. and revitalized American business. The Japanese state model hailed by liberal Dems in the 1970's and 1980's is near total collapse today according to Sony's chairman.

In retrospect, they should have paid Reagan more tribute like they did their other occidental conqueror, General Douglas MacArthur.

Like usual, you refused to respond to a genuine quid pro quo payoff:

What is absolutely appalling and outrageous is all the money Clinton the Corrupt has received illegally while in office from China and Indonesia in return for nuclear weapons technology and changes in trade and human rights policy.
