My apologies if this has been posted before.

A man and his wife are playing golf at their posh country club. They reach the 18th hole, which is a 90 degree dogleg right par 4 with the magnificent clubhouse nestled in the crook of the dogleg. The man looks at his scorecard and realizes that if he birdies the 18th hole (which he has never done before) he will break the club record. The only way he figures he can make a birdie is to hit his tee shot directly at the green, but that shot is obstructed by the clubhouse, which is too tall to hit a tee shot over. However, the man notices that windows in the front and back of the clubhouse on the second floor are open and if he directs his tee shot perfectly his ball will go in the first window, out the second and land within several yards of the green, giving him a great chance for his birdie.

The man hits his tee shot and, much to his horror, the ball is about a foot higher than it needs to be to go into the first window. It hits just above the window, caroms back toward the tee and hits his wife in the forehead, killing her instantly.

About a week later the man is playing at the same club with an old friend who came to town for the funeral. When they get to the 18th tee the friend surveys the situation and boastfully announces that he is going to cut off the dogleg by hitting his tee shot through the two open windows in the clubhouse. The widower then tells his friend, "I wouldn't try that if I were you. Last time I tried it I had to take a 7."
