I don't find it telling. Who is the President of the ABA? Just another lawyer whose opinion means no more than mine or yours. What legal case law, precedent or principle did he cite in this grand pronouncement? I haven't seen the statement but I'd bet its short odds that he didn't cite any law or precedent. The ABA as an interest group takes itself way too seriously. Frankly, I'm an ABA member and I think our President has no business speaking for the membership on such issues. JLA
