I've stated this kind of thing so many times on SI it gets to just be ridiculous, but people have got to stop looking at the price of the stock and what the market is doing if they want to get a handle on when to buy and when to have patience. Anyone who is concerned about SCSI going away should have some need of understanding server computers vs. the home crap. The performance isn't possible without the high end SCSI now and in the future. Also, what is Adaptec positioned in besides SCSI? Look over their webpage if you need to be reminded. Next year Firewire is coming out and Adaptec will be bigtime into that. It is also into DVD rewritable, video peripherals, CD-RW; lots of the next cutting edge stuff. There is no way to have this stuff designed into the motherboard and have it keep up with innovations. The future is incredible for Adaptec! It is at or close to a bottom and anything down from here is just a time to really load up. This is the kind of stock that will go up on bad news being announced; it is that low now. They are into the nearterm next generation stuff and they are better than well-positioned to be in the farout future stuff; digital VCR; computer as home information furnace, integration of home digital appliances, etc.
