John, I don't think it will change anyone's mind, in itself. The people who would have lied will lie anyway, those who wouldn't have done so won't be more likely to do it because of this. The perception that he is being hounded by illegitimate requests for information by idiotic lawsuits will do as much or more harm to the public morale, I think. The country isn't just based on a rule of law, but also a respect for the individual's right to pursue happiness each in his/her own way--even if that way seems goofy or even "immoral" or "kinky" to others, as long as it doesn't violate the right of others to do the same.
