Nancy, I am not sure what to say about your post. I hope that you find peace with your beliefs about the end coming soon on earth. Obviously I hope from my own perspective that is NOT true, because my beliefs involve wanting to stay right here where it is so beautiful, and try to help save animals and stuff like that. But anyone who has a belief system that respects the other ones and does not just cause more hatred is great with me.
I know where the anti-semitism comes from--a literal belief in a Bible that became more and more polarized against the Jews in the years right after Jesus died. His followers got more and more angry about the mainstream Jews not accepting Jesus instead of Abraham as their father, and they dealt with this by demonizing the Jews and writing about it. This is where satanism comes from, also. Even though the Pope just apologized for hostility towards the Jews which started from believing in these parts of the Bible, some Christians still take everything very literally.
I am not sure why there is such hatred at Ask God about Jews, and homosexuals as well. People over there don't realize that the Bible has been mis-translated, and altered during the first centuries after Jesus' death. Certainly, they have taken the most beautiful and simple and wonderful teachings like the Golden Rule and turned them very negative. These prejudices are pervasive everywhere in the Christian world, except among the tolerant, who are too few and far between. I have no idea what to do about this, but it makes me very angry because human suffering is the result. I know Jesus would be very upset by that.
How is tolerance taught, anyway? Somehow we need to do this.
Have a wonderful week!!! |
