My theory is that it is payback for Nixon and Reagan/Ollie. Newts destroying Wright and then Rostenkowski were just appetizers, but not satisfying meals. It is sort of a chance for Republicans to finally feel morally superior, after being humiliated by their leaders.

Now see there's real flame bait. They're not likely to go after you now.
