>>Did you think it was a just war?

When you look at the consequences of our defeat it can easily be termed "just". Who knows what would have happened had we not entered the fray - the war cost both sides dearly and perhaps stopped something that would have spread to Indonesia - remember they came very close too.

>>Did you believe in the domino theory?

When you look at the map, the dominos did fall until 1981, when we elected a President determined to challenge communism rather than try to reason with it.

>>Did you think we should get out?

Without a doubt.

>>Were you chomping at the bit to join Junior ROTC as soon as you could, or were you trying to find out all you could about how to start laying a case for being a conscientious objector should the war drag into your draft years?

Interesting question. I've never wanted to kill people or been inclined towards a military career, even turned down an invitation to West Point - they seemed to need people at the time I guess.

It's easy to see that the Anti-War movement was motivated primarily by self-interest - not that that was wrong, but the war would have had to have gone on until 1983 for me to have been at risk.

Did the volunteer army come before or after the war was over?
