Interesting question. I've never wanted to kill people or been inclined towards a military career, even turned down an invitation to West Point - they seemed to need people at the time I guess. It's easy to see that the Anti-War movement was motivated primarily by self-interest - not that that was wrong, but the war would have had to have gone on until 1983 for me to have been at risk. Did the volunteer army come before or after the war was over?
