John, considering that there a lot of expenses besides tuition to send two children to private colleges, you could conclude that the Gore's are spending half their pre-tax income on education. I don't care what else is paid for; that is a lot!!
I am sure the Clintons have some deal up their sleeve to pay their legal expenses. If Clinton joins a good law firm after he leaves office, and Hillary does also, and they give speeches, and write books, it will not take much time to pay their legal fees. And they do everything for image purposes. Since Hillary promised to donate her book proceeds, it would have looked horrible for her to change her mind.
I am not exactly in the Gore fan club, but I think he is a lot more ethical than Clinton, and less cynical, and really cares about some of the issues that I do, also. I have never gotten the feeling from Clinton, on the other hand, that he was doing anything from his core convictions, and I think that is why I didn't bother to defend him, even though I am not a conservative. |
