>>I am not exactly in the Gore fan club, but I think he is a lot more ethical than Clinton

Remember Gore lied about his tobacco interests - he even continued to sell the stuff after his sister's death. But that didn't stop him from using her as a political prop.

Then there was his "no controlling legal authority" concerning his illegal fundraising. How about his shakedown of Buddhist nuns?

Look at this, Gore is set to save one of the biggest contributors to the Dem Party at the expense of scholarships for poor children:

Conservative Republicans back an amendment to repeal the deductibility
of gambling losses in order to finance a program to provide scholarships
for low-income children.

"How do you argue against helping underprivileged children?" worries
Frank Fahrenkopf of the American Gaming Association. Gambling
interests count on senators from horse-racing states, like Kentucky's
McConnell, to lead the opposition. One concern: The idea could be
picked up to help pay for IRS overhaul or tax cuts.

To underscore its opposition to the broader GOP bill, the White
House may send Gore to preside over the Senate debate.
