VirusScan was the evening's top winner, taking home the Principal Award for ''Best Security Software'' for the second year running. VirusScan was also selected over competing products from Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC - news) and Dr. Solomon (Nasdaq: SOLLY - news) for top honors as ''Best Anti-Virus'' product. In the ''Best Encryption Control'' category, Network Associates' Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) received the Highly Commended award. Phillip Zimmerman, a Network Associates Fellow and the original founder of PGP, was also honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in the field of cryptology.
