i agree with you, some longs feel that if someone continues to sell (ie a mutual fund or an institution) they are manipulating the stock downwards just as shorts will complain if someone purchases large amounts. the shorts will not complain on a decline and the long would not bother to complain about manipulation when the stock price goes their way.
