Hate to be boring here, but skimming through the posts since earnings, I find the reasons for earning falling seem to be:

- Proposed threat of Microsoft including a security feature in the next version of NT that would compete with CHKPF. This is a future and a questionable threat.

- Issue of increased booking in the final weeks suggesting they pulled in sales from the coming quarter to make numbers this quarter look better? I don't fully understand this and how it can be resolved to be a non-event, or a truely strong indicator of a problem.

- Market manipulation from a MM has driven the price down, and I would assume they have a goal of getting to a price at which they will drive it back up. One can assume a MM is not selling short, can't one?

- Was there something in the forward looking statement that indicated any problems?

As I said, I'm a bit confused. I tend to agree that this stock seems to be unfairly down on what should be good news unless there is something deeper here that is not obvious to me. Sorry to be boring, but could some one give me a recap of the weeks events and what I might be missing? Is there any issue of losing market share to a competitor?

Have there been any downgrades? And besides Paine Webber, have there been other upgrades?

I'd like to buy some of this stock, but don't want to buy if there is a fundamental problem, or serious momentum issue that is going to continue pulling this company down.

Regards,

Mark
