Fred,

I also suspect that a lot of retail investors will be spending tonight at their terminals putting in market sell orders to be executed at the open. If there is even 100 retail investors at 1,000 shares each who put in market sell orders to be executed at the open tomorrow morning, we will definitely see a big dip. But in that case, I suspect you will see several large blocks trading later on at substantially higher prices. The market makers would simply take the retail sales at the lowest possible prices and then bag them to get nice sized lots for sale to larger investors.

I just bailed out of a chip company stock. I didn't do it because the stock was doing terribly; it wasn't doing well, but it was doing ok. I did it because I wasn't convinced that management had done its homework and come up with a credible strategy for the future. I bought more Adaptec instead. And if I had more money, I would put in some low-ball bids for tomorrow morning on the off chance that I would get some good fills. But I don't so I will just have to sit and watch. Or maybe I will just go away for 6 months or so and then look at it.

Cheers, Torben
