John I watch for 1/2 of average volume to be reached by 10:30. If the average volume is reached by noon that is also a good sign. Some stocks will start the day slow and increase as the morning goes on. Such was the case last friday with IVX. I do not have alerts other than visual tracking via Datek real time quotes. I will soon have level II access and be able to set the alerts, for now it is just watching and waiting. I missed at least two plays last week because I do not have the level II yet. Many names were called of myself. LOL for average volume I use the number provided by the SI quotes. ht david couple more looking ripe AAIR and CCSE
