NYBellBoy, Take a peak at #1227 and the others in that same period. The news articles inthose posts have expired for viewing through Yahoo, can possibly access the archieves though. In short, TBR is / was a "state owned company" and is privatizing, should be complete in July. Telesp is a consortium of several companys wihich includes BellSouth, Brazilian TV & newspaper cos. and banks. As far as TBR's involvement and shares in Telesp, I don't have that info. But if Brazil is like Russia, China and other country's, the state maintains some level of holding in the JV partnership.
This and the other posts I've done is my own interpitation other info I've collected and reviewed. I suggest to you and the other investors than have taken positions in PLFM take take some time to review all the posts over the past several months, news and other info you can dig up, so you can make a sound investment decision and not assume that I or anyone else are 100% accurate in what we say.
For those investors who have worked in and dealt with international (3rd world/remote) countrys you know that "western technology" / communications is worth far more than gold. They will pay anytime to get it. The closest competitor, Angel Tech.(best to my knowledge) is, at a minimum, 18 months behind and in the tech/comms market, that's a life time.
I hope this answers your question. As I uncover/find additional info., will post ASAP.
