Since I'm a buy-and-hold (or in the case of Adaptec a receive-in-buyout-and-hold) investor, I don't focus on short term reasons to buy or not buy. I'm looking at the 3-5 year horizon, and (since I have a very low basis in the stock) asking whether I should sell and take a major capital gains hit, or stick with it expecting good price recovery in the 3-5 year time frame. So far, I think the management, research capability, and business emphasis are all positive, and unlike many other tech stocks it's still making money. So I'm nervous, but still holding on.
