I don't think that the death knoll on Be There! has sounded yet. Anyway IMO RACE may be close to creating a solution which will allow internet service providers (ISP's) to provide residential internet service to their customers without tieing up phone/fax lines. In other words- you don't need to pay for that extra phone line as long as you are willing to have some minor decrease in data transmissions when the occasional call comes through while you are on the internet.
These ISPs would be able to provide internet service not at the cost of a phone line plus $20.00 per month- but simply for $20.00 per month. Neat hunh?
