As you know, the concocted story about a "major shipment" proved to be yet another one of the Pump's hoax, yet the speculation continues: and yet another note - - marshall May 7 1998 2:09AM EDT Something was said about a logical, easily deployable solution for "last mile" situations. No details were revealed but it sort of sounded as if they weren't just working on this on their own. Oh, "something was said" alright and the more they talk the better: talk is cheap. "No details were revealed" because there aren't any. The goal is to prevent delisting with with a new round of hype. Another quick note - - marshall May 7 1998 1:59AM EDT It appears that Data General just commited an impressive advertising budget for promotion of the product. Perhaps we'll finally start seeing some attention from the trade journals due to this commitment. Impress advertising budget? Is this like the sales brochures? Is this like the story about an impressive shipment of systems which turned out to be a lie? I guess we'll have to listen to this nonsense until they actually close the doors.
