This joke from early in the thread missed the most important conclusion

A little sparrow was late in leaving to fly south for the winter
As he flew along he became very cold and his wings began to ice up
He fell from the sky into a barnyard
Along came A cow and crapped on him
He thought this surely is the end of me
The manure was warm and began to thaw him out
Suddenly he was all warm and cosy and he began to sing with joy
Hearing the singing, along came a big fat cat and pawed the manure away
from the little bird and promptly eat him
The moral of this story is:
EVERYONE WHO CRAPS ON YOU IS NOT NECESSARILY YOUR ENEMY
EVERYONE WHO DIGS YOU OUT OF THE CRAP IS NOT NECESSARILY YOUR FRIEND


but the most important moral -
IF YOU ARE FULL OF SHIT, DON'T CHIRP!!
