The same dealer I dealt with for a couple minor problems on the Monte Carlo will be handling any necessary repairs and I was quite satisfied with their service.
I've found that knowing how to talk to the service departments in a knowledgeable way often helps, as does carrying a Snap-On cup around with you. A few of the higher-ups at the dealership know who my dad was thus realizes some of the connections we still have with GM. I've even got a new one for them - although it's not my profession (thus just for fun) come late July I should be able to appear wearing a shirt with this logo on it: asecert.org Five years ago I added to my responsibilities the creation of an in-house maintanence program for most of our company vehicles and I figured I may as well grab another piece of paper for the knowledge and experience. Not only has this proved very successful at saving the company money but some of my employees have found immense satisfaction in learning some of these skills themselves - especially when they can use them on their own vehicles to save themselves money as well.

Yea, well, if the plastic ever starts rattling it's no big deal to fix it -
I was tearing dashboards apart at 14 installing car stereos for french fry money.

The car came factory with the indash CD player and even though it changes the
"only way you can buy the car" situation I changed over to a factory cassette since I already had one of those Pioneer-made Delco 12-disk CD changers that I took back out of the Z-34. The rear defroster is of the simple resistance-grid on the window type, unsure how it would cause interference and I had the same setup on the Z-34 with no problems. Again - should interference be a problem I'm pretty good at tracking down things like that and eliminating them - what's tough is getting high-speed digital designs to pass the stringent FCC requirements the first time. :-)

Lighted buttons? There are quite a few but they pulled the heat level down. They also dropped the lights inside the radio controls on the steering wheel which are the ones people were complaining about anyway. Ones on my Z-43 weren't that hot.
Degrees Kelvin? Means nothing to most people, it's 293.4&#176 K outside here,
of course that's only 20° C but a whopping 528.1° R !!

Yes, Heads-Up display came standard but mine's level. They should have included a mirror of the Supercharger Boost gauge in there as well as the Performance-Shift mode indicator. My major complaint on this car is that the Performance-Shift button should not have been on the gear selector or at least had a firmer detent on the button as it's too easy to bump and accidentally put in that mode.
