In a Nutshell

PBX to PC connectivity cards are a dime a dozen and getting cheaper by the minute. IP protocols and switching equipment to handle media from voice to video is exploding and every major player from Lucent to Cisco to Motorola is getting into the act. They replace the PBX, where they don't they integrate the PBX through the LAN. That's why Marshall has been waging this failed campaign against VOIP: RACE completely missed the boat with this proprietary prank Be There! MCK and others are cleaning up with 20% growth per year just in the PBX integration space. RACE has finally snapped out of their dream-like stupor and realized that they had better get on the VOIP bandwagon.

Meanwhile, companies are upgrading access to 56K or better, with or without integrated voice. They are using pagers and cellular phones in the field and ISDN for stationary remotes. What they are not doing is buying ancient history that offers then no compelling value on one hand and incompatibility on the other. The product is dead in the water, they are now embarking on a VOIP solution and that space is already jam packed. The chances of RACE developing a competitive product are near ZERO. If by some miracle they do, you won't see a nickel of that as a shareholder. RACE hangers-on have already taken the loss, they can either lose more or salvage what they have and leverage the tax loss.
