One of my friends is an aerospace engineer for the navy A6 attack division in Norfolk, Va, and he explained that the coffin corner is the situation in which at high altitudes a plane will stall if its speed falls below a certain point but that it will experience transonic turbulance if it exceeds a certain speed (near mach 1). He is also an investor in PLFM and feels the "Coffin Corner" did not apply to the PLFM aircraft. He also said an operational ceiling of 60,000 is possible for this type of aircraft and that a number of methods can be used to maintain the fuel at the proper temperatures.
