Since when did memory become the primary driver for wafer consumption?

Second how long will this oddity exist?

What happened to the rest of the electronics industry?

What happened to automobiles? They have more silicon real estate in them than your desktop has, probably in the braking system alone.

What about micro-minature mechanical devices such as ink jet printer jets? ie HP 855c black uses about 50 sq. mm of silicon at least the one in my hand does.

What about micro processors?
In my toaster?
Car?
Stereo?
Satelite Dish?
Radio
TV
Telephone
Cellullar phone
Dish washer
Washing machine
Refrigerator
Freezer,
Etc.
Etc.

What haooened to:
Cellullar Phones.
Microwave ovens?
Light Switches.
Etc. Etc. Etc. Etc. Etc. Etc.

I could go on ad infinitum.

Please respond!

Nothing personal just the facts....... Please.
