Dan:

It is unfortunate that I did not attribute to one specific report. I was searching through my files to look for them and will quote when I find them. From memory I could paraphrase but not quote. The report I was looking for was an IDC report.

As for crashing a system Unix is by no means fault tolerant. Only some Unix system were designed as fault tolerant. NT can be fault tolerant to the degree Unix is. Look up Tandem and Stratus You will find NT with Wolfpack combination at significantly lower price.

I thought this is a place where people can come and express what they think. You don't have to agree or disagree. I express a concern about all non-X86 processors. As far as Company I happen to like Sun. Ibelieve Scott Mcnealy has done a fantastic job. I do not see a problem in the next two years. If Sun or DEC/Mips/IBM does not come up with a strategy NT will dominate.

I also believe forecasts is just that a forecast, if everything stay the way they project. This is by no means certain. But to ignore it is foolish.

Cheers
