Hi Jack,
In Newport, you should first bring up the stock fund screen in question, then open the Maintenance window. There, in the field where the Number Of Shares is shown, type in the new grand total. The tell the program "OK" and you are done! It will update the graphs to show the distribution with a tall vertical line and will restart the Moving Average and Price lines as well.

As far as changing trades for a specific date, Newport can be "tricked" by entering negative values for the number of shares to reverse a trade. Say you put in a trade that shows buying 100 shares at $10, and you meant to put it in as a Sell. You would first bring up the Trade window, click on the Buy item, then enter the trade date you wish to "fix" and (-)100 shares at $10. This will cancel the other order. Then go ahead and enter the trade correctly as a Sell of 100 shares at $10. Hope this helps!

Best regards, Tom
