Re: good superonductor technology

Maurice,

I don't know for sure which company has the best technology. My own
field is very far from actual applications. I am a theorist trying to
understand these materials starting from microscopic (quantum mechanical) models. What I know about Conductus is that they have lots of connections with some of the leading experimental scientists from Stanford (whom I know), and also that many research groups use their materials. Researchers from Conductus are also regularly invited to research conferences.

Another company I own stocks of is Illinois superconductor (ISCO). There is a thread on them also under communications.
The people there have very tight relations with Argonne National Laboratory (the place I worked from 1993-1995, visiting right now), which has a very strong focus on high Tc superconductivity also towards the applied side. They seem to be very close to get a contract from Ameritech for the filter systems.

SCON is another promising player. They have a rather nice and broad
range of possible commercial applications. Check out their threads
in Misc (technology).

I don't know about Superconductor Core Technologies, [SCT]. They don't seem to have gone public yet.

I don't think that the filter systems can do anything about the possible risk of the radiation, since that risk originates from the
handy itself, whereas the filters help to improve the signal-to-noise
ratio of the receivers at the base stations, and also offer a wider
band-width for more channels.

I don't know Karl Michel, sorry.
