Lewinsky Update:
NEW YORK, June 9 (AFP) - Monica Lewinsky, a glamour gal?
As her family tries desperately to improve her public image, Lewinsky
has gone one further by posing for glamour photos for the July edition
of Vanity Fair magazine, on newsstands Wednesday.
In photos taken by photographer Herb Ritts, Lewinsky, the former White
House intern suspected of having an affair with US President Bill
Clinton, is found on California's Malibu Beach, her womanly curves
hidden behind fuschia feathers.
The photo session was the brain child of Lewinsky's former lawyer
William Ginsburg, who had said that it would be a way for Monica to
express her "imprisoned libido."
The idea did not please Lewinsky's parents and may be one of the
reasons the outspoken lawyer was given his walking papers last week.
Lewinsky, who was 21 when she first went to work at the White House,
has since tried mightily to modify her public image, trimming back her
thick hair, abandoning sophisticated evening gowns, limousines and chic
restaurants in Ginsburg's company.
A photo of Monica taking a taxi made page one news Tuesday in a
Washington daily paper.
And when her new lawyers briefly announced last week that they were
taking over her case, the mute and smiling Monica wore a sober
garnet-colored pantsuit.
Lewinsky has not spoken in public since her supposed liaison with
Clinton made news in January.
