He consulted an attorney. I suspect he was worried he would be a target. The poor guy did kill himself. he was obviously worried about something substantial. I'm not saying the interest of the gov't (Starr) in getting a look at the notes is not more important that the privilege. Courts have shown a willingness recently to balance the govt's need for the evidence with the interest of the person in maintaining the privilege. I'm just saying I think it ought to have to be a pretty strong showing. I find myself in the awkward position of asserting a position which advances the Clinton's interest! Who wudda thunk it! JLA
