Good story, close but not quiet right. The Agincourt story is the reference for the English equivalent of the one-fingered salute which is done with two fingers. Two fingers are used to pluck a bow, not one. Thing of it yourself. If you were going to draw back a bow string how many fingers would you use? And if one, wouldn't it be more likely to use the forefinger than the middle finger? It is also a matter of the historical record that the French cut off two fingers not one. So close but wrong country's gesture. :)
